Samsung promised that they would release a TouchWiz UI update for the Galaxy Tab 10.1 and they have kept to their word and updated on time. The firmware update Samsung has released today (available over the air) will update the TouchWiz user interface making the Galaxy Tab 10.1 the Android tablet that is most customised.
The update will allow the Tablet to stand out in a dense crowd of Honeycomb tablets, and the fact that the usability of the tablet is increased greatly means that the 190MB download is well worth it.
As well as a few new apps like the Samsung proprietary Media and Social Hubs, the new firmware brings a customised bar at the bottom which allows you to launch specially designed mini apps.
The TouchWiz UI was preloaded in beta state on the Honeycomb Galaxy Tab 8.9 which will ship with the UI, but it looks like Samsung’s flagship Tablet device now has the latest UI too.
