Sharp Aquos 102SH dual core 3D Android Phone Announced

Sharp may be a little known Smartphone manufacturer over here in Europe and in the US, but their handsets are huge in Japan and Asia with the phones taking a huge 25% share in the market.Sharp’s smartphones happily stand up against the American Apple dominance in the rest of the world.

Sharp have for some time been preparing to release one of its handsets to a worldwide audience, and we at the Gadget Helpline have recently been privy to one already – the Sharp Aquos SH8298U 3D phone and it’s pretty darn cool, offering 2D to 3D video conversion on-the-fly for YouTube and more.

In Japan the Sharp team have just announced their latest handset to take on the iPhone in its home country, this time in the form or the Sharp Aquos 102SH Android smartphone.

The Sharp Aquos 102SH will come with an OMAP4430 1Ghz dual-core processor with 1GB of RAM to support it and will be running on Android’s current Gingerbread 2.3.4 operating system.

The handset sports a 4.5 inch HD 329 ppi display supporting a resolution of 720 × 1280 pixels. The display is auto-3D, meaning you can view 3D content without the need for 3D glasses.

You’ll also get all of the smartphone add ons you would expect like Infrared, Bluetooth and GPS plus a few extras like DLNA wireless file sharing with support for recording which can be later played on Sharp LCD’s. To top it all off, you get a 12 megapixel camera with image stabilizer which can also record video in full HD at 30 fps.

The Sharp Aquos 102SH will be released in Japan in December and is available in available in three colors (Purple, White and Black) as part of its winter line-up of phones.
