Sony Announces 2-in-1 USB / Micro USB Flash Drive

Sony official blog has revealed a new USB flash drive which unlike the typical storage devices for home computers that we’re used to seeing, doubles up for use with Android smartphones and tablets too.

As the name suggests the pocket-sized Sony 2-in-1 Flash Drive goes both ways, offering a back-up storage solution which not only features the usual USB 2.0 connecting end found on every other memory stick but flip it around and there’s also a Micro-USB. This fits comfortably into many mobile gadgets allowing data to be stored and transferred easily between smartphone, tablet and computer or laptop.

Sony’s USB/Micro-USB device is compact and with a choice of 8GB, 16GB and 32GB capacity and will allow users to enjoy larger files such as movies and music albums on the move without bogging down your device’s own storage.

Released in January 2014, the Sony 2-in-1 Flash Drive price will start from $19.99 for the 8GB option, $29.99 for 16GB, and $62.99 for the 32GB one and all are compatible with smartphones and tablets running Android 4.0 and above with a file manager app to be made available by Sony nearer the time of release.
