Sony has just announced another addition to its popular Cybershot range with the DSC-TX55, a compact digital camera, which Sony claims to be the worlds thinnest that can capture full HD AVCHD video.
The new Sony Cybershot TX55 is only 12.2mm thick, and features a 16.2mm Exmor R sensor which should allow excellent quality images to be captured in poor lit conditions. Sony has also included a new technology which the company calls “By Pixel Super Resolution” which is designed to double the standard optical zoom range of 5x to 10x without losing any image quality.
The TX55 will also be able to take sweep panorama images with its 16.2MP sensor, as well as being able to shoot 3D using supplied software. On the back of the camera you can expect to get a respectively sized 3.3-inch OLED touchscreen display.
The Cybershot TX55 is expected to go on sale September with a retail price of $350 (around £215).
