There’s a music streaming war going on. Amazon’s just joined, Spotify is soon to land in the US, and now Sony’s hoisting its sales. The Japanese giant has just announced that it will be bringing its Music Unlimited subscription streaming service to a slew of its portable devices.
In a talk with Eurogamer, Sony Network Entertainment’s vice president Shawn Layden confirmed that the MU service will be hitting the PSP “in a matter of weeks,” the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play “this year,” and that it would almost certainly appear on the upcoming NGP portable console.
Much like Spotify, the service, which is powered by Sony’s news Qriosity media software, allows users to subscribe (for either £3.99 or £9.99 per month), compile playlists and stream music from any web-enabled and compatible Sony device.
