Sony Xperia S Smartphone Gets Access to Playstation Store

If the Xperia S wasn’t looking impressive enough already, Sony has only gone and just bolstered the spec-tacular flagship smartphone by providing access to the Playstation Store for mobile gamers to access a deep resource of classic PSOne titles, new titles and content through Sony and certified apps from third-party developers using the Playstation Suite.

The Sony Xperia S is impressive and one of the major talking points of this year’s CES and MWC. It’s the latest and greatest in the Xperia range and the first model branded as a singular Sony product, after the partnership was bought out from Ericsson. As well as hooking up with the Playstation Store the gadget which comes loaded with Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS with a generous 4.3” display with a super sharp 1280 x 720 resolution which will now be used to show off high-quality games with exciting graphics.

Sony has opted to not join the quad-core market just yet, so the Xperia S is driven by a high end 1.5GHz dual-core beast of a processor supplied by Qualcomm, with a whopping 1GB of RAM and 32GB storage, which more than makes up for the absence of MicroSD support. Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and NFC are thrown in for internet and connectivity features and the Xperia S boasts a 12-megapixel camera with Sony’s Exmor R Sensor and LED Flash, with a video output of 1020p HD.

The Playstation Store app can be downloaded on Sony Xperia S smartphones, along with a Playstation Pocket app by accessing the Android menu and selecting “Start PS Store” from the applications tab.
