Sony has quietly launched the new Sony Xperia SL Android Smartphone to the world by lunching the handset on its website to very little ceremony.
The handset is billed as the successor to the Sony Xperia S handset but really its just a incremental update to their mid card smartphone range of phones designed to sit with medium ranged contracts.
The handset sports a 4.3-inch, 720p touchscreen, 12.1-megapixel camera with a 1.7GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor and Android Ice Cream Sandwich.
Housed in exactly the same case the Sony XPERIA SL looks identical to the XPERIA S but comes in four colour choices: black, silver, white and pink.
The faster processor will inevitably lead to the device getting the latest Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update on the handset in the coming month but first Sony has the task of getting Jelly Bean on their flagship handsets first.
You can check out the full features on the Sony website. There is no news on whether the handset will be released in the UK and Europe.
