SwiftKey 3 Beta Launches, No Space Bar Required

TouchType Ltd, the company behind the popular Swiftkey application for Android which allows users to compose text and emails by predicting the next word required, have today announced their Swiftkey 3 beta.

The Swiftkey 3 beta is described as ‘next generation auto-correct’ thanks to the company’s patent-pending technology called Smart Space. The technology will predict what word you are going to use next, you simply select the word if it’s correct and hopefully repeat this process until you have successfully composed your message. Thus meaning you should never really have any need to use your spacebar again!

Other improvements seen in the Swiftkey 3 beta is an improved UI, this allows users to access frequently used punctuation marks more easily. Also included is two new visual themes, with one designed to suit the new Android ICS update. One other stand out feature, if you frequently change between different Android devices, your typing preferences are automatically backed-up and tied with your Google Account via the Android Backup service.

TouchType Ltd say that if the beta goes smoothly, the company will aim to release the next version of Swiftkey within the new few weeks. For now though, if you happen to be one of the 30,000 VIP community members you can download the beta and give it a test run. If you’re not signed-up, you can register for a VIP account, although only a limited number of new members are being accepted.

Make sure you check out the video below showing the latest beta in action.
