Tamron Introduces New Sony NEX Lens

Lens manufacturer Tamron has just unveiled a new lens to add to its already pretty extensive range, one designed specifically for Sony’s NEX cameras and the E-mount standard – probably the first third-party manufactured one as well.

The new lens introduced is the 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 DI III VC. It is a stabilised lens which along with Tamron’s own Vibration Compensation technology, designed to reduce blur when shooting, should allow users to get excellent results when used at the higher end of the focal range.

If you happen to be a Sony Alpha user, no doubt you’ll be aware of the current extensive offering of lenses available for the A-mount system; hopefully something that Tamron will decide to expand with the new E-mount lens system. I guess we’ll have to wait and see.

Unfortunately, at the moment Tamron haven’t hinted as to how much the new lens will cost or when it will be available worldwide. However, it’s thought that the new lens will arrive sometime in early 2012.

As soon as Tamron announce this information, be assured we’ll make sure you know.
