Dutch Sat Nav co. TomTom has launched a very helpful app for the iPhone called TomTom Places, but at the moment it’s only got a very limited European distribution.
Using advanced an advanced places-of-interest database TomTom Places bring the familiar GPS style, bringing iPhone owners an easy to use interface for searching and navigating to the best pubs, cafes and eateries, as well as entertainment venues such as cinemas and tourist attractions and cash machines. It’s all there inside the handy app which closely mirrors the Google Places app for Android owners.
On offer now in Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Portugal, TomTom Places launched in the company’s home nation The Netherlands and was downloaded a whopping 75,000 times in the couple of weeks. With five new destinations, can we expect the app to drop in the UK next?
