The BBC’s delivery of top British telly on the social net continues – following from the launch of classic and modern age Doctor Who on-demand episodes on Facebook last month, now the Beeb has brought popular motoring-humour programme Top Gear right to the desktop through the show’s official Facebook page.

Visit the Top Gear page today, click “Like” and you’ll see a tab on the left hand side which allows you to access a special section of the page where by cashing in 15 Facebook credits (93 pence worth) you can enjoy a full episode of the British institution starring Jeremy Clarkson, James May, Richard Hammond and, of course, The Stig himself.

BBC Worldwide are behind the scheme to bring telly to Facebook, and Top Gear managing director Adam Waddell says “We’re always looking at ways of adding value for the core fans of the show so it’s entirely appropriate that we should be one of the first TV shows to make its premium content available via Facebook.”

We love to chat to our mates about Top Gear, so now by adding the show to the vast range of entertainment available on the social network two of the nation’s favourite pastimes provide a new avenue for that conversation to continue, as well as the opportunity to watch and share those classic episodes.
