Toshiba’s new Android 3.0 tablet faces delays

Anyone who’s been waiting for the newest Android tablet from Toshiba is in for some bad news I’m afraid, as Toshiba has announced that they have had to delay the launch of their new 10.1-inch tablet.

The new Android 3.0 tablet was due to launch very soon in Q2, and was seen as an alternative to Apple’s iPad, although now Toshiba has said they do not expect the new tablet device to start shipping until the end of this summer, pushing it into the Q3 bracket.

The Toshiba Tablet is expected to feature some impressive hardware, including the current Tegra 2 dual-core processor, although the latest rumours circulating suggest that the delay was due to Toshiba waiting for new NVIDIA quad-core alternative instead.

Other features of the tablet include a 5MP rear camera and also a VGA front facing camera, HDMI out, Wi-Fi etc.

As of yet, there is no news on how much the tablet will cost, although speculation suggests that it will be within the price range of the iPad and the Motorola Xoom.
