Tweeter claims Nokia W7 and W8 to be first Windows Phones?

Nokia-hating tweet-freak Eldar Murtazin (eldarmurtazin) has whipped the rumour mill into frenzy by claiming Nokia are lining up the first range of Windows Phone 7 mobile phones, and even suggesting he’s had hands-on time with one of the prototypes.

The Nokia prototypes follow the existing naming strategy – with 2 titles named as W7 and W8 – which are said to include X7 hardware base and Qualcomm chipset to the requirements of Microsoft. The W7 is currently being used for in-house development, having a look very similar to the Nokia N8 and appears to be a variant of the cameraphone. Murtazin also suggests that the W7 also resembles the HTC Mozart.

The Nokia W7 and W8 are but two models out of a staggering twelve Windows 7 Phones claimed by Murtazin – which are supposedly in the works from Nokia and heading our way in 2012. We’ll wait for the facts, but here’s certainly something to talk about.
