Why are we waiting…
It would seem that Apple are stringing out the apparent update of its MacBook Air range of notebooks to the full effect this year as the 2011 annual product refresh is looking set to happen next week after weeks of rumours.
Many Apple related sites have been stating a release of this weekend for the updated MacBook Air laptops, but a few sources reportedly close to the company have stated that Apple themselves want to ship the Airs with the latest Mac OS X Lion next week.
It has been reported that the new Air line-up will have an increased minimum specs with the devices coming with at least 128GB SSD (up from 64GB) and RAM of no less than 4GB (up from 2GB), and as previously stated running the Mac OS X Lion software.
We are also set to see the return of the popular Backlit keyboards as we reported on a few days ago as well as an Intel Sandy Bridge processor range and the new superfast Thunderbolt I/O connectivity for external hard drives and displays.
The pricing is expected to stick around the minimum specced price of £999, which is already a bit of a pocket buster, but we will have to wait until next week to get the full information and pricing.
