Xbox.com has gotten itself a bit of a spruce up, presenting a few new social features ahead of the much-desired Dashboard update that’s coming.. somewhen.
The interface has had a tweak, now brought into uniform with a Windows Phone style completely with that ‘tiling’ appearance and a new Social tab replaces the familiar My Xbox one, this links to a Facebook-esque gamer community with all of your Xboxing buddies listed and you can check out what they’re been playing, reading and doing through the Activities view, just like the popular social network.
And added feature means that Microsoft will no longer be accessing Xbox 360 user accounts automatically and taking unwarranted payments for updates, this time it’s as simple as saying no. No need to call up support to get them to flip the switch.
The new Xbox Dashboard is due to be announced any time now, with a beta currently being rolled out to developers and these new additions to the website suggesting that the wait shouldn’t be too long now.
