If you’re eager to get back to the Gears of War universe after new title Gears of War 3 was pushed back from April to September – this is your fix! The popular Xbox 360 title has taken a leap out of the console and on to the table-top, making a cool transition from third-person shooter to role-playing board game.
In the boxed game -imaginatively titled Gears of War: The Board Game – 1 to 4 players can join up for multi-player battle between COG soldiers and Locust hordes in game-play which is obviously reminiscent of the ever-popular Dungeons & Dragons-style. The game includes 30 miniature models of your video game heroes and monstrous villains as well as 17 map tiles, 75 tokens and markers with 200 rule cards included in the massive bundle.
The versatile and epic game play of the Xbox 360 Gears of War is reflected in the board gameby Fantasy Flights Games – but of course it takes a little more imagination and a small amount of geek-tendancies. The world of gaming inspired by D&D just got cool again!
Gears of War 3 is on its way – finally – on September 20th from Microsoft Studios and Epic Games with over 1-million copies already pre-ordered it looks to prove a bigger success than its predecessors.
