Facebook music with Spotify coming this afternoon?

There are sound-waves of speculation emerging from the social web today, ahead of Facebook’s F8 conference in just a few hours time. Many suggesting that one of the major announcements to emerge from the press event will be that Facebook will finally be launching that long-rumoured music platform – and it’ll be powered by none other than popular music sharing software, Spotify.

Facebook’s Creative Director Ji Lee let slip a vague remark about a ‘Listen with your Friend’ feature which was quickly pulled from his personal Twitter account, but not after sending the social web into a frenzy a guessing and suggesting that this meant it’s time for Zuckerberg’s social net to get musical. This was followed by a post on Lee’s Facebook profile following a similar line of remark. This post still remains at time of this article’s writing.

Oh, and if that wasn’t give-away enough – Daniel Ek, co-boss of Spotify, will be in attendance for the opening of the Facebook F8 event this afternoon.

We do wonder in Mark Zuckerberg will address the recent ‘update’ to Facebook and the response  of pretty much all of it’s 750 million active users currently in uproar!
