The recently rumoured Twitter Music app for Android, Apple’s iOS and other popular platforms appears to have been confirmed as today a page marker has appeared at music.twitter.com, heralding the arrival of the social based discovery service.
It was suggested that micro-blogging site Twitter was looking to expand on its contemporary edge and the popularity of music trending on its social network with a stand-alone app. The Twitter Music app would focus on sharing industry news and tweets from recording artists as well as top tips on hot new tracks making a buzz in the music world – allowing fans to #Discover the latest and greatest trends across a number of genres.
As of yet the music-loving public is yet to see the app, but it’s said that it will follow suit with the main social software with selection of tabs familiar to users of the original and a constantly updating feed dedicated to top trending stars such as Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber (thankfully not limited to just those!)
It would also appear that Twitter made the move to roll out the Twitter Music app to select celebrity “influencers” last Friday. Rapper Wiz Khalifa and other musicians were noted to be praising the new app via their individual Twitter pages over the weekend.
Pay a visit to music.twitter.com and you will now find a teaser page for #Music but clicking on ‘Sign Up’ currently does very little besides refresh the page and display ‘Coming Soon’. There’s no release date yet, but your Gadget Helpline bloggers’ ears are open and we’ll bring you the latest on this sweet sounding new social app!
