Acer rolls out the Android 3.1 update for the Iconia Tab A500

Okay, so it’s a little bit later than previously expected, however Acer have now started to roll out the latest Android 3.1 update to users of the Iconia Tab A500.

So if you happen to have yourself one, you should hopefully be offered to update the tablet to Android 3.1 relatively soon. If you’re impatient you can force the tablet to search for updates by tapping Settings > About Tablet > System Update > Check Now.

The update to Android 3.1 brings some neat new features which were demoed at this year’s Google I/O conference, including better multitasking, resizable widgets and support for USB host devices like digital cameras and game controllers.

As I’m sure you’ll know, as Acer will be pushing the update OTA you may have to wait a few extra days before the update will appear on the tablet, or alternatively you may be in luck if you try a manual check to see if you can get the update any quicker.
