Altec Lansing debuts new ultraportable iMT630 speakers for iPhone and iPod

If you fancy treating yourself to a pair of new portable speakers for either your iPhone or iPod, or perhaps both – well look no further as popular audio manufacturer Altec Lansing have just debuted their new iMT630 Classic and Sport.

So, whats the difference between the two? Well, not a lot really, the sport version is available in two additional colours – teal and red. That’s it.

Both units feature a pull-out connector which will allow you to easily attach your iPhone/iPod to the iMT630, while on the back there is a storage compartment that neatly keeps the remote control hidden away while not in use. You’ll also get built-in rechargeable batteries with both, as well as the ability to interact with the speakers using Altec’s iOS apps.

These apps include the Music Mood app as well as the Alarm Rock app. When using the Music Mood app, you’ll be able to customise your sound using the graphic equaliser allowing you to have a more enjoyable listening experience. While the Alarm Rock app (yes you’ve guessed it) acts as a digital alarm clock complete with a time display and an oversized snooze button. You can also choose to wake up with your favourite songs, while also being able to enjoy a fully custom user interface as well.

The iMT630 is compatible with iPod touch (1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th generation), iPod classic, iPod nano (1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th generation), iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 3G and iPhone.

You can get your hands on one now direct from the Altec Lansing website, as well as other electrical retailers with a suggested sellling price of $149.99 (around £95).
