Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich boot up caught on camera

  • by

Google’s newest Android treat has been launched – Ice Cream Sandwich (4.0) made its first appearance this week complimenting the public unveiling of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus smartphone and now a fellow blog site has released a video of the boot-up graphics for the anticipated dual-platform mobile and tablet OS.

On start-up the familiar Google font appears followed by a sharp and colourful graphic animation presented via the Galaxy Nexus’ generous 4.65” Super AMOLED display. It features the trademark Google colours segmented and swirling into new shades. 12 seconds later the lock screen appears, with sliding padlock icon which follows the users touch and he drags it to the unlock mode, opening the spacious ICS interface with series of icon running along the bottom of the screen.

The video shows off one of the unlock methods which can be used on the new Samsung Galaxy Nexus, and subsequent follow-up models packing the latest Android software. Alternative is to utilise a face unlock setting, which will intelligently identify the users face and unlock the phone through the front-facing camera.

The 1.2GHz dual-core CPU packing Samsung Galaxy Nexus will arrive in November as a 16GB model, but no 32GB version – so claims retailer Clove which is listed its stock at £514.80.
