Have you been thinking about treating yourself to a new external hard drive for handling all that extra data you’ve got? If you answered yes, then you’ll be pleased to know that popular HDD manufacturer Buffalo have unveiled their two latest additions – the MiniStation Extreme and the DriveStation Axis Velocity.
The MiniStation Extreme, which has been designed to provide a portal storage solution, which, thanks to its rugged design, lightweight package and ability to keep all your important data secure manages to do that quite nicely we think. Along with its rugged portable design, you won’t have to worry about performance as the drive is also USB 3.0 compatible thus ensuring super-fast transfer speeds when connected to a USB 3.0 device. The MiniStation Extreme will be available in two different storage capacities – 500GB and a 1TB version.
Moving on to the DriveStation Axis Velocity, this is a larger external drive ideal for holding all your excess data that you don’t have room for on your computer’s internal drive. The HDD will be available in three sizes 1TB, 2TB and 3TB which should hopefully cover most user requirements for additional storage. In addition to the HDD capacity, the DriveStation Axis Velocity also has optional government-grade encryption using 256-bit AES. And again, like the MiniStation Extreme, it is also USB 3.0 compatible.
Both drives are compatible with PCs and Macs and will also be supplied with a selection of Buffalo tools that will allow you to increase file transfer rates, perform backups and conserve energy by reducing power consumption.
If either sounds like your ideal external drive, you’ll be pleased to know that both are available now.
