UK Television manufacturer Cello has unveiled the UK’s cheapest and first sub-£500 3D television range with its new 42″ and 47″ high-def models.
Coming in at the budget angle, Cello have been a firm supermarket favourite for some years with Sainsburys and Asda stores stocking their products, but now the company are stepping into the next dimension with a range of 3D televisions.
The TVs will come with an LG screen panel which supports passive 3D technology as well as full HD 1080p resolution. Additionally, each television will come packaged with 4 pairs of 3D glasses.
Connection-wise the TV’s will also come with built in Freeview, two HDMI sockets and a USB connection to be used for recording programs. You will also have access to BBC iPlayer directly on your television with the Cello iViewer system built in.
Two screen sizes are available with the 42″ model coming in at £499.99 and the larger 47″ being priced at £699.99 (both with the 4 pairs of glasses) and any additional glasses for the television can be purchased for a cut rate of £19.99 each. Compare that with the £79.99 you’ll pay for just one pair of Sony 3D glasses!
With Sky, Virgin and the PlayStation 3 all offering 3D content in the UK its about time someone came and lowered the price of 3D in the home.
