Eurostar Launches free iOS and Android App

Crossing the sea on a train has never has been so simple, as Eurostar have recently covered all bases with their new app.

The free app is featured on both of the mainstream app vendors, the App Store for iDevices and the Android Market for Android’s range, and allows users to book and manage their journey for free on their mobile.

The app includes four separate tabs, booking, tickets, profile and help, and features interactive and innovative controls in its design, such as themed sliders for indicating departure and destination stations and highlighting for the most affordable tickets.

On top of this, the app allows functional and prompt access to booking tickets and planning a journey, changing your carriage class and all manner of features you would expect from a website serving the same type of information.

The app offers QR codes as a method of picking up tickets, which require to be scanned on pickup, but additionally includes e-mail or collection at the station of your choice. Additionally the app tracks your Eurostar Frequent Traveller and Plus Points, so you can tell when you have enough to redeem.

Nick Mercer, commercial director for Eurostar commented on the app recently;

“The new Eurostar App and mobile website represent the start of many exciting mobile developments for Eurostar, which will help ensure we become the first choice operator of short haul travel from the UK to Europe”,

The company has also updated its website for traditional non app-based internet access from mobiles.
