Fujitsu’s 2012 Product Roadmap Leaks, Shows Transformer Prime-alike and Windows 8 Slates

Fujitsu isn’t a company constantly in the news, but when we hear of a new product from them, it’s almost always damn exciting – take the fully submersible Fujitsu Arrows phone for example.

Unfortunately for Fujitsu, but rather fortunately for gadget lovers, the company’s product roadmap for the entirety of 2012 has leaked online, divulging some exciting new products for the year ahead. One product that stands out head and shoulders above the rest on the sheet is billed as a “New Detachable Performance Slate”. It looks like a direct rival to ASUS’ Transformer Prime, offering a decent sized tablet and dockable netbook-sized keyboard.

Fujitsu has already proven its ability to create insanely thin gadgets with the Arrows smartphone, so we’re excited to see if this tablet will knock the Toshiba AT200 for the title of world’s thinnest tablet. According to the leaked slide, this device will arrive in September.

There’s another Android tablet in the works at Fujitsu HQ, shown on the slide as a ‘Mainstream Android Media Tablet’. To us this says a mid-range tablet which aims to not break the bank, but offer decent features to boot.

2012 looks set to be a tablet-focused year for Toshiba, with Windows 8-based tabs being readied for late on in the year. Unfortunately the leaked information doesn’t give any information about a particular tablet, though.

Asides from tablets Fujitsu plans to boost its PC and laptop sectors, introducing two new razor-thin Ultrabooks in May of this year. Again, not much can be gathered from the slide, though three models in Red, Black and Silver appear to be shown.

In-keeping with Fujitsu’s ‘thin is better’ ethos, the company will be launching ‘Stylish, ultra-thin’ displays in the third quarter, plus a range of stylish and thin touchscreen all-in-one desktop PCs in the fourth quarter.

Colour us excited for the Detachable Performance Slate, but which of Fujitsu’s new products excites you the most?
