Google launches White 32GB Nexus 7 Tablet in UK and US

Whilst many of us are hoping for a white Christmas, a large amount of tech heads across the globe hope for white gadgets. Google is looking to fulfil this want as the company has today announced a brand new white version of its Nexus 7 Android tablet.

Google will be releasing the white 32GB version of the Android KitKat device next Tuesday in both the US and the UK via its own Google Play Store. The tablet will retail for $269 in the US and £239 in the UK for the 32GB model.

Unfortunately for LTE/4G fans there is no sign of a white 16GB LTE version, as Google is only releasing the larger 32GB version in white it would seem.

Other than the colour, nothing else changes on the tablet – it’s still got a 7-inch 1920 x 1200 Full HD display, 1.2-megapixel front-facing camera, 5-megapixel rear-facing camera, Wi-Fi, 2GB of RAM, a 3,950mAh battery, wireless charging and a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor.

The one thing to note with the new colour is that the white is only on the back of the tablet with the front and screen housing staying its usual black colour. This is the same with the Nexus 5 smartphone which is also available in white – perhaps Google doesn’t like to go all-out with new colour options.

The Nexus 7 (2013) is one of the leading tablets available this Christmas partly due to its excellent price and pure Android OS, but now with the new colour variant it could start appearing under more Christmas trees this year.
