HP pulls back curtain on Movie Store on-demand on TouchPad

Hewlett Packard has pulled back the curtain on its anticipated Movie Store for the TouchPad tablet – the service will be available for US film fanatics, but could bring yet another on-demand services to the UK, following this week’s rumour.

Stateside HP slab owners can pick up a rental movie for $2.99 or a single TV episode on the TouchPad for $1.99. If you like what you’ve seen, you can also opt to buy the film for $9.95.

The Touchpad was launched in the states on the first of July, and drop on these shores last week. Can we expect Movie Store to be delivered onto our version of the tablet? We already have a wide choice of on-demand movie rental services, ranging from Virgin Media, LoveFilm and the apparent import of NetFlix.

For movies and media the webOS-based HP TouchPad features a generous 9.7-inch, 1024 x 768 display, suitable for handling films and also pumps out sound on BeatsAudio in-built speakers.
