Leaked slides from an official presentation HP shared with Precentral show that HP are readying two of their own Music and Movie store apps for the HP TouchPad tablet device.
Both stores will be HP branded, and will offer purchases and downloads as well as “intelligent caching” – cloud music basically. According to the presentation, HP has developed a “smart algorithm” which will enable their stores to cache music the user may also like.
We suspect that the stores will also come to the HP Veer and Pre 3, but not any pre- WebOS 3.0 products.
Offering music that a user may like based on music they already listen to is basically what Apple’s Genius service does, so HP better be careful or there will be another Apple lawsuit flying around.
