As I’m sure you’ll agree, the most important test performed on any smartphone these days is one that will ensure you can use it as a hammer should you require to hang a picture or something and don’t actually have a real hammer to hand.
The latest handset to get that test is HTC’s flagship Android smartphone; the One X. Now, if you’re not that familiar with the handset, it was announced back in February this year at the Mobile World Conference. And as mentioned, it’s HTC’s top-end device and it’s specification features include components such as the Nvidia Tegra 3 chipset, along with a 1.5Ghz quad-core ARM Cortex-A9 CPU, 1GB of RAM and also 32GB of internal storage. On the software front, the One X also features the latest Android ICS update too.
Now, the video below was originally released a while back by an HTC Engineer no doubt wanting to show of the capabilities of the Corning Gorilla Glass that protects the screen on the One X. Unfortunately though, pretty much as soon as it was uploaded it was promptly removed. But not before a Chinese video sharing site managed to grab a copy of it and re-publish it to YouTube.
After watching the video, I’m sure you’d agree that the One X has done pretty well during that important test, he was hitting the nail pretty hard I’d say, and the end result showed that the One X didn’t even appear to have a blemish. However, apparently it wasn’t such a happy ending for the engineer in the video who apparently was fired. If that’s true, I’m not quite sure what HTC was thinking, it’s not as if the video showed the One X being smashed to pieces, if anything it’s more likely to get people interested in the handset, after all, everyone wants a phone that can withstand a few knocks here and there.
