iPhone 5 Was Steve Jobs Last Project And Is Expected To Be ‘Cult Classic’

If you’re wondering what happened to the iPhone 5, well the first few details are already coming to light and according to the latest reports it was one of the last projects Steve Jobs worked before his unfortunate death.

According to reports from CNET, an analyst at Rodman and Renshaw has confirmed that Jobs did indeed personally work on the phone from the drawing board to the finished product.

If these reports do turn out to be true then the next iPhone 5 could go down in tech folk law as the final great swan song for Steve Jobs.

Apparently the new iPhone will come sporting a complete re-design, according to tipster who spoke to CNET “This is a very large project that Steve dedicated all of his time to. He was not that involved in the 4S because his time was limited.”

According to analyst Ashock Kumar, the iPhone 5 will be the same size, but Apple will add a bigger screen and the phone will come with LTE – aka 4G – and it’s expected the phone will be shown off at Apple’s Worldwide Developer’s Conference (WWDC) next summer, which would be less than a year away.

The news comes just a few days after the release of Apple’s iPhone 4S, which sold 4 million units in three days. The iPhone 4S comes in the  same form-factor as the previous model, but has had major internal changes which now see it feature the same Dual-Core A5 processor found in the iPad 2. With an enhanced antenna and a much improved 8-Megapixel camera on the back, the 4S is more than just an incremental update.

Is the thought of a iPhone 5 coming within less than year something that would change your thoughts on upgrading to the iPhone 4S ?
