With the Wii U home console finalised and unveiled at Nintendo’s E3 presentation this week the next things we need to know is when – and most importantly how much?
Online store ShopTo has now given us some indication of what we’ll be looking to pay for the “living room revolution”, when it arrives at a non-committing “in time for Christmas” release date and combines play on the big screen TV with the innovative second HD touchscreen through the GamePad that comes included in the bundle.
The total cost is now believed to come in at around £279.99. That’s what ShopTo is currently giving as the suggested RRP, but is asking 14p less for the Wii U in both White and Black versions as the first U.K retailer to announce a price. But we’d soon expect the likes of Tesco and Asda to throw their offerings on the table and if their approach to the Nintendo 3DS is anything to go by we could see that price beaten by quite a saving.
It’s unknown if any games will come accompanying the console but we’re also hearing today that games that impressed us at the E3 such as Mass Effect 3, Batman: Arkham City – Armoured Edition, Zombi U, Nintendo Land, Assassin’s Creed 3 and New Super Mario Bros. U will cost up to £39.99 in physical disc format along with another 25 titles and 5 digital-only games which will become available this “holiday season”.
