Future HTC One Smartphone Rumoured to Include 1.6GHz Quad-core Processor

We’ve been truly impressed by the HTC One range – particularly the One X which comes running newest Android OS version 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich on a super-speedy 1.5GHz quad-core beast of a processor. Now the Taiwanese mobile maker looks to go One better and if rumours today are to be believed HTC is working on something even more powerful.

HTC’s current quad-core offering – the One X

The unknown smartphone device currently said to be in the works at HTC HQ is believed to feature a generous 4.7-inch 720p high definition touchscreen display and an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera. Supported by a healthy 2GB of RAM the mystery gadget will really outrun the pack with an impressive 1.6GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 processing chip.

If like us you’ve had hands-on time with HTC’s current flagship smartphone the One X you’ll know how nippy that the current model is, so we can only imagine the potential of this top secret project which will presumably come running whichever revision of the popular Android software is in effect at the time (likely to be Android 4.1 Jelly Bean). However, it is also worth noting that HTC has also signed up as a partner for the just announced Windows Phone 8 platform with several device codenames recently revealed. The Gadget Helpline will follow the latest updates from HTC and see if we can match these impressive specs with any future devices to give you its true identity as soon as it becomes known!
