With the Samsung Galaxy S3 and Androids Jelly Bean 4.1 software version both being the current IT things of the tech world, it’s understandable to ask why the two devices have not met yet.
Well, reports are coming in that Samsung are just as keen as us to get the latest Android OS onto the flagship handset, with the company reportedly in the final stages of testing the 4.1 Jelly Bean update plus it’s TouchWiz Ui on the mega smartphone.
Additionally it’s said that the Samsung Galaxy S2 and the Samsung Galaxy Note will also be getting the Jelly Bean treatment soon, so users of the older Galaxy range of phones won’t be left out.
SamMobile is reporting the update is almost ready for the SGSIII, with the Galaxy Note and Galaxy S2 both looking to get the update shortly after the S3 receives its version.
Its should be no surprise that Samsung are acting fast, as they have already seen the vanilla version of Jelly Bean added to another of its own creations, the Galaxy Nexus smartphone, so all Samsung have to add is the TouchWiz User Interface.
All the information is coming from “Sources extremely close to Samsung” with the manufacturer issuing no official statement regarding its update process. This should be no surprise to Samsung Galaxy S2 users as many have yet to even see the previous Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0 update on their handsets.
Current estimations for the update are around the end of August but we will have to wait for official word from Samsung on exactly when it land.
