Snoop Dogg Lays Down Track for Tekken Tag Tournament 2 – Also Appears in the Game!

Snoop Dogg has released a new music video to promote his appearance in the new Tekken Tag Tournament 2 game from Japanese developer Namco, which will be unleashed on the west from September on all major home consoles.

The track, which is titled “Knocc ‘Em Down” [sic], is the soundtrack that accompanies one of the upcoming Tekken sequel’s stages which is representative of the rappers superstar lifestyle. Featuring the bright neon lights and exuding fame and fortune, the stage features Snoop Dogg himself sitting behind the fighting pit, overseeing the combat from a golden throne with purple cushioning as dancing girls gyrate around him.

Obviously this is an idealistically gaudy gaming arena for the rap icon’s outlandish public persona – who in real life is 40-year old Calvin Broadus, happily married to his childhood sweetheart – What a pimp.

The video for “Knocc ‘Em Down” has a bearded Snoop looking slightly Bob Marley-ish rapping in a rasta hat as a room full of his entourage battle it out on the D-O-Double G’s own Tekken stage. The fight leaves the safety of the console when fight game pro Justin Wong and a fellow revellers kick off fo’ real in Snoop’s crib!

As for Tekken Tag Tournament 2, the “other” franchise in the Street Fighter X Tekken clash once again gets to show its fighting spirit in the follow-up to one of the series’ most popular additions. As the title suggests, this one is again all about team play, selecting two of the fifty famous fighters allows you to switch when things get tough or play multiplayer game on the same side to more effectively battle beastly challengers such as Ogre.

The game will be released from September 11th on Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 with a Nintendo Wii U released planned for shortly after.
