After news broke yesterday that Sony would be removing the motion capture gadget called the PlayStation 4 Camera (previously PlayStation Eye) from its basic hardware bundle, pictures have surfaced from the company’s official website suggesting that the camera will in fact be included in a PS4 retail package along with the PS4 exclusive game Knack.
The images briefly appeared in a gallery of upcoming PS4 products before being pulled and the only trace remains in thumbnail form, showing the 500GB console, DualShock 4 controller, assortment of connection cables and headset alongside the PlayStation 4 Camera and game in a seemingly natural bundle.
None of the sources that saw the ‘official’ leak have reported pricing information but we know that a starter package of the bare essentials has an RRP of £349 – a price that’s £80 lower than the Xbox One, thanks to the sacrifice of that PlayStation Eye accessory. This offered up the sizeable price undercut on Microsoft’s Xbox One which will sell for £429 and we can only guess that this full fat PS4 bundle with camera and game will hit around £450 when the console arrives this November.
We took a look inside the basic PS4 bundle to reveal the inventory as well as sharing the impressive specs in our What’s in the Box article.
