Tesco home and electrical goods now available through Facebook

UK grocery / home wares / electronics shop Tesco has integrated its catalogue shopping service into social network Facebook.

Heralding the arrival of a new ‘Autumn / Winter’ range, boasting ‘8000 new lines added’ and ‘1000 prices cut’, Tesco bring ‘big brand’ tech names such as Sony, Dyson, Hewlett-Packard and Panasonic as well as furniture, tools, toys and video games to the new extension of the online catalogue.

Facebookers will now be able to get the full range of items usually available in those bulky books without having to leave the social browsing, as the shop is translated into the Tesco Facebook Page itself. Shoppers can find items by search fields for category or name, as well as catalogue number as found in the trusty tome.

Making the most of the social element, the page suggests – browse the catalogue ‘and share with your friends!’

By visiting Tesco on Facebook and clicking the ‘Tesco Direct’ icon on the left hand column will open up the new experience in home shopping, and this comes in addition to the already loaded list of useful apps such as Clubcard Voucher Exchange and Recipe App.
