Xbox Live players in the UK might find problems logging onto the Microsoft gaming service today. Microsoft is aware of the issue and is working on resolving it, but has not provided any info on what might be the cause.
However, it is known that a version of Internet Explorer is in the works and the testing of this is a possibility for this annoying disruption.
According to the Xbox Live service status website it’s just the account login section that is affected and “users may experience difficulties signing into Xbox Live from an Xbox console”.
The problem seems to also affect logins from Xbox.com but those lucky enough to be able to get on the network will be able to access their gamer profiles and account information as normal, as well as still enjoying movies, TV and assorted multimedia from the vast content available from app providers such as Lovefilm, Netflix, Sky Player and Zune – all of which are listed as ‘up and running’.
The full list of available services can be found on the status page and it looks like most of it is fine – once you get on there.
