Aggrieved Apple online shoppers anxious to get hold of the new iPad2 were left disappointed in the early hours of this morning when sales of the much-desired tablet were plagued with errors.
iPad 2 became available in the UK at 1am and reportedly every customer attempting to purchase the heavily hyped slab through the online Apple store was met with either a repetitive “processing” message at the payment stage or an even more frustrating “Oops. An error has occurred during your session. Please return to the Store Menu to continue shopping”. Shopping Basket details were however retained but repeating the process only led to further error messages.
Presumably this was all down to traffic to the site with eager buyers staying up all night to grab the slab and avoiding the queues outside stores across the country, where the iPad 2 goes on sale at 5pm.
Not a good start at all for the gadget we’ve all been waiting for, and if we do eventually become able to make a successful order, Apple now claim there will be up four weeks waiting time to receive the tablet since demand for the iPad2 is as expected so high. “Oops” indeed.
Did you manage to get an order through, or are you running to the shops to join the masses today in hope of grabbing the last iPad 2 on the shelf? Does this change your opinions of Apple’s “customer service”?
