The Google Nexus S has been announced as one of the Android handsets which will receive the next upgrade to recently unveiled version 4.1 – aka Jelly Bean.
The new upgrade was announced last week at the annual Google I/O Developer’s Conference and will deliver a faster, smoother user interface, improvements to keyboard and notification features and tools such as Android Beam, an advanced voice search and the inclusion of Google’s own web browser Chrome.
The Google Nexus S is a Samsung-made smartphone with a 1GHz CPU which was launched in the UK in December 2010 as the first gadget to host Android 2.3 Gingerbread. Despite being an impressive handset in its time advancements came in the form of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus a year later, and the Nexus S is considered fairly low-spec less than two years later. It was however fortunate enough to make the final cut for the last Android revision and current standard 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
Again the Nexus S has been awarded an upgrade and owners will be delighted to know they will be receiving their sweet new Android at some point in the near future after it’s let loose this month.
