Since the biography of late Apple leader Steve Jobs revealed that a flat-screen Apple TV set was to begin production the internet has been awash with rumours and speculation about the much-desire fruity goggle-box.
The latest suggestion comes from an analyst at Jeffries, the global securities and investment banking group, Peter Misek, who has been talking about LCD display-maker Sharp supplying the hardware for Apple’s television set which he claims will reach its production finish line just in time for the 2012 Olympic Games in London which begin in July of next year. Sharp is said to be pimping its Sakai, Japan manufacturing factory in preparation to deliver the desired displays in time for set making in the next few months.
Previously, Nick Bilton of the New York Times reported that the Apple TV concept as an actual television set (rather than the iOS-packing little box many of us are familiar with) has been in development since 2007 and the Sharp claim joins the many question marks floating above Apple’s TV which includes everything from iTunes integration to the Siri voice assistant, currently found only on Apple’s iPhone 4S replacing the need for a physical remote. We like that one as it’ll mean you’ll never lose your remote – unless, of course, you lose your voice!
