Facebook Music will let you listen to tracks with your friends

It’s quite possible you already know about Facebook’s intention to launch a new music service, in fact it’s probably something everyone knows. What’s not common knowledge is how it works.

Well, that is until now, as thanks to a Facebook employee, we have a better understanding of how this new feature is expected to work.

Ji Lee, who is the Creative Director at Facebook may have accidently leaked info about the new feature via Twitter, by sending out the following tweet earlier, “The “Listen with your friend” feature in ticker is blowing my mind. Listen to what your friends are listening.  LIVE”

Within minutes of tweeting this, the message was deleted, although not before some quick thinking person managed to grab a screen shot of the tweet.

It’s expected that the new Facebook Music feature will actually launch at some point today at Facebook’s F8 developers conference, and will display what you’re listening to on the new right-side tracker that appears on your news feed page. So, if you’re listening to a track and a few of your friends perhaps want to listen to the song , they can simply click on the notification in the tracker and then thanks to the magic of scrobbling and track matching they will also be able to listen to the track as well.
