If reports are correct, it would seem that Apple is ready to start production on the company’s next generation of MacBook Air.
According to Concord Security analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who has been talking with Apple Insider, he has said that Apple has placed an order for 380,000 Intel Sandy Bridge-based MacBook Airs this month. Of the total order, 55% will be for an 11-inch mode and the rest for the larger 13-inch model.
The new MacBook Air will feature Intel’s latest ultra-low-voltage Core i5 and Core i7 chips, based on the 32nm Sandy Bridge architecture.
Also, Kuo notes that Apple are also intending on winding down the production of their current MacBook Air, with a final run of 80,000 units.
The folk over at Engadget also suggest that the new generation of MacBook Air could also gone on sale as early as Wednesday.
