The story of the day seems to be the supposed delay of U.K stocks of the Nokia Lumia 900 Windows Phone, originally believed to begin shipping on April 27th. The gadget was then thought to have been delayed until May 14th due to high demands for the latest Lumia in the United States, where the popular Nokia model has been on sale for around a month.
Following website promotion which suggested the phone would arrive two weeks earlier, Phones4U have now confirmed that Monday, May 14th will in fact be the big day and that the retailer will be the first in Europe to supply the Nokia Lumia 900 (in both black and white) to the public. Pre-order customers who paid for the product before April 16th will also receive free Nokia Purity by Monster in-ear headphones in addition to a Nokia Play 360 wireless speaker at no cost.
The retailer’s official statement just received by the Gadget Helpline reads:
“Phones 4u is proud to announce that, further to confirming its white exclusivity across the entire Nokia Lumia family of smartphones (including the Lumia 900), it will be the FIRST European retailer to range the eagerly anticipated Nokia Lumia 900.
Further to the US Nokia Lumia 900 launch event, the product has already proven to be an overwhelming success and with the continuing high demand for Nokia’s latest Lumia smartphones, the Lumia 900 will now launch in the UK at Phones 4u on 14th May.”
