Samsung Galaxy Nexus delayed until December 2nd claims Amazon UK

More confusion surrounds the Samsung Galaxy Nexus today. The gadget was due for its public release in just a few more days – on November 17th. However, a slight alteration on Amazon.co.uk has thrown all that into doubt and the tech community stand scratching its head as to why the online retailer, which usually has the latest tech ready to ship on day of launch, would push that date back until December 2nd.

The Samsung Galaxy Nexus pre-order page now states just that – “This item is due to be released on December 2, 2011″ this despite Samsung saying otherwise only a short time ago following the hotly-hyped Unpacked event (which was also delayed) and even Amazon itself claiming to have the gadget one week before all competitors. Seems the boast was a bit hasty, and the statement has been just as hastily retracted.

This two week postponement (if it turns out to affect all retailers, not just Amazon) will come as a huge disappointment for the numerous early buyers who were wowed by the Galaxy Nexus smartphone’s upgraded Android Ice Cream Sandwich operating software, 1.2GHz dual-core CPU and eye-watering 4.65” Super AMOLED HD display.

We’ll be following the latest on this scheduling change and deliver the most up to date information on the Samsung Galaxy Nexus’ UK arrival.
