Veteran American punk band Green Day is set to return with not one but three new albums starting this September – and in celebration of a brand new song Billy Joe, Mike and Tre Cool have teamed up with Rovio to become villainous pigs in a new Angry Birds social spin-off!
Ahead of a rumoured appearance at this weekend’s Reading Festival, Green Day have turned into green pigs for Angry Birds Friends – the Facebook based app game which will receive an update with 10 new playable levels which include a punk rock and festival flavour and will feature the band’s new song ‘Oh Love’ and another bonus track called ‘Troublemaker’. This is a song title that certainly suits the trio’s dastardly deeds as they join forces with the Angry Birds’ long time porky persecutors!
The Angry Birds Friends game launched in May in partnership with Facebook, delivering the same pigs popping and structure smashing action as the popular app game for Google Android, Apple iOS and BlackBerry gadgets allowing millions of users to play against each other and have top scores shared on the social web. After a number of egg-citing and eggs-clusive updates the Green Day stage arrives today at http://greenday.angrybirds.com with the band’s three new albums titled ¡Uno!, ¡Dos!, and ¡Tré! released in September and November 2012 and January 2013 respectively.
Earlier this year legendary KISS bassist Gene Simmons talked openly about a proposed deal with Rovio for an Angry Birds spin-off featuring ‘the Greatest Band in the World’ – but sadly we still have no news of this one.
