Project Soli – Google’s Interaction Sensor Based on RADAR

  • by

Remember watching Minority Report and seeing Tom Cruise manipulate that 3D virtual computer?

Even if not, I am sure most of us can imagine a sci-fi environment where we manipulate computers and gadgets just by using a simple hand gesture.

One of Google’s latest projects is straight out of science fiction and looks to have the possibility of revolutionising the wearable gadget market. They are currently developing an interaction sensor based on RADAR technology. The team developing it are very excited about its possibilities as it can track movements with great accuracy. The unit itself is only the size of a computer chip and can be adapted to almost every electronic item we use today.

I cannot wait to see where this goes and how much it could change our every-day lives!
