Setting sights on the consumer market and manufacturing cheaper and commercialised OLED technology Sony and Panasonic’s secret was revealed by Japanese web source Nikkei which claims the ultra-slim screen tech from the united companies and their combined resources will considerably undercut those used on a range of products from TVs to smartphones and tablets – as well as upcoming hardware by Samsung and fellow Korean screen maker LG including the impressive 55-inch television being prepared for launch this year and was first announced at the Consumer Electronics Show back in January.

Both Samsung and LG are already noted as separately working on the next evolution of OLED screen tech which will bring flexible displays to our gadgets and Apple is said to be kitting out its own future television offering with a Super OLED in partnership with Sharp.

It seems business is picking up in the tag team division in regards to cutting edge OLED tech. Perhaps a pairing between the Korean’s is next?
